What is your definition of ‘professionalism’ in the field of interpreting? Does your definition fall in line with those of others, and if not, why not? Are there ethical boundaries that we cannot cross, or is everything situational? Do our actions as interpreters lead to empowerment or oppression?  This workshop will address these and other questions about how we regard ourselves, our field, our colleagues, and those with whom we work. Workshop participants should come with an open mind, ready to examine, share and dissect various examples of professional or ethical quandaries.
