Presenting a workshop

If you are interested in earning CEUs by presenting a workshop the guidelines listed below must be followed for the workshop to be approved for CEUs by RID.

Presenter CEUs:

RID CEUs for Presenting an RID Approved Workshop:
Presenters wishing to gain General Studies (GS) CEUs equivalent to the number of CEUs offered to participants can do so by checking the presenter CEU request box and providing his/her RID member number on the RID Activity Report Form sign-in sheet. CEUs will be awarded only once during each certification cycle for each activity presented.

RID CEUS for Presenting a Non-RID Approved Workshop:
Presenters wishing to gain General Studies (GS) CEUs equivalent to the number of CEUs offered to participants can do so by contacting a CMP Sponsor to prepare an Independent Study Plan. The Independent Study Plan must be approved before CEUs can be earned.

RID CEUs for Course Development:
Teachers wishing to gain Professional Studies (PS) CEUs for the preparation and development of the classes/workshops may contact a CMP Sponsor to prepare an Independent Study Plan. The Independent Study Plan must be approved before CEUs can be earned.

Presenters:

·         Should be qualified with credentials, training and experience in the subject matter to be presented

·         Must contact and return all paperwork to the RID approved sponsor at least 45 days in advance of the date of the event to get a presentation approved for RID CEUs.

      • Submit the activity plan (PDF or Word doc)
      • Submit a presenter bio
      • Submit a copy of all advertisements/flyers* (including website info)
        • *Note: All promotional materials must include:
          • The RID CMP and/or ACET logo
          • The following paragraph: ______ is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This [Professional Studies/(or)General Studies] program is offered for [#] CEUs at the [Little/None, Some, Teaching, or Extensive] Content Knowledge Level
          • Information on the educational objectives of the activity. This information may take a variety of formats and depth of detail.
          • Information on the refund and cancellation policy of the Sponsor. It is acceptable to print contact information to learn of these policies, rather than the entire policy.
          • The target audience, as described in the Continuing Education Activity Plan.
          • A solicitation request for reasonable accommodations.

 

·         The following items must submitted to the CMP sponsor within 30 days after the workshop to be kept on file for RID:  

    • Copies of handouts or an agenda from the workshop
    • The RID sign in sheet  (activity report form)
    • Copy of a blank certificate and blank evaluation form (if using forms not provided by RID)
      • If the presenter/host creates their own certificate, it must meet the following guidelines:
        • CMP and ACET logos
        • Activity Number
        • Full title of event as filed online
        • Date of activity
        • Presenter
        • Sponsor Name
    • Completed evaluations
    • A summary of evaluations
